Your Google homepage on desktop is about to become much more engaging with the addition of Discover.

If you enjoy getting a curated stream of information quickly, Google Discover is an ideal tool—especially if you’re using an Android phone or tablet. While it’s not for everyone, many users have embraced it, customizing the feed with their personal interests to make the content more relevant and engaging.

Although it’s been confined to mobile devices for a while, it was clear that Google Discover would eventually arrive on desktop—especially after a subtle teaser from Google last month. Now, that moment has come, as the Discover feed is beginning to roll out to the Google homepage for select desktop users.

    It’s officially rolling out

Android Authority broke the news that Google Discover is now going live on desktop, following a report from a user on X. However, if you’re in the U.S., you might not see it just yet—early indications suggest the rollout is limited to specific regions.

Currently, Discover is confirmed to be active in Australia and New Zealand, according to Android Authority. If you’re curious to try it out yourself, you can visit http://google.com/?gl=nz, which should trigger the Discover feed on your homepage. This gives you a glimpse at trending news and personalized content, just like on mobile.

This is likely only the beginning of a broader rollout. With Google I/O kicking off on May 20, there’s a strong chance we’ll learn more about the desktop Discover experience during the event. Stay tuned over the next couple of days for potential updates.

All in all, this marks an exciting shift for the desktop version of Google. While it may not appeal to everyone, users who enjoy quick, curated news at a glance will likely appreciate this new addition.
