On Wednesday, Microsoft revealed that the beta of its Copilot for Gaming feature is now available. Participants in the beta can try it out through the Xbox app on both iOS and Android.
This initial release lets the assistant answer your game-related queries, direct you to helpful resources, and draw on your account details—such as play history and achievements—to provide tailored responses.
For instance, you might ask: “What’s my current gamer score, and how can I boost it?” or “I’m a fan of horror—what game would you recommend?” You can also inquire about specific account details like: “What was my most recent achievement in Starfield?” or “When does my Game Pass subscription renew?”
“In this mobile preview, Copilot for Gaming serves as a secondary screen so it won’t interrupt your main gaming experience,” explained Taylor O’Malley, principal program manager at Xbox, in a blog post. When you pose a question, Copilot pulls from your Xbox activity and public Bing data to craft its reply. Microsoft says it’s working on adding deeper personalization and proactive coaching features.
Currently, the beta is offered in English to gamers 18 and older in over 60 countries—including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., India, Australia, Brazil, Japan, and South Africa—with more regions to follow in the future.
