Google silently adds this time-saving feature to three more of its apps.

Some of Google’s well-known apps come pre-installed on nearly all Android devices, which, while potentially seen as unfair by rival developers, offers convenience to users by eliminating the need to search for and install them manually. However, several other Google apps aren’t included right out of the box. That doesn’t mean they’re ignored, though.

Despite its track record of quickly abandoning certain products, Google continues to prioritize a consistent user experience. This is evident in the company’s recent move to bring a subtle design enhancement to three more of its apps—including two that aren’t typically pre-installed—aimed at saving users time and improving usability.

Three additional Google apps now feature the handy new profile navigation.

Google has been developing a new account switcher for its apps since last year. The feature was first spotted being tested in Google Keep, and gradually began appearing in more Google apps—suggesting a broader rollout was planned. Just last week, Google Maps became the first app to officially receive the new account switcher through an update.

Google initially began testing its new account switcher in apps like Google Keep, but ironically, Keep and several others where testing was first spotted still haven’t received the feature. Instead, the updated account navigation is now rolling out to three other apps: Google Wallet, Google Tasks, and Google Translate.

While the redesign isn’t revolutionary, it does make switching between multiple accounts much easier. Previously, users had to go through several steps—navigating to the profile page, tapping “Manage your Google account,” and then selecting the desired account. The new switcher streamlines this process with a collapsible menu that displays all accounts, allowing you to switch with just a tap. It also includes options to add a new account or manage existing ones on the device.

According to Android Authority, the redesigned account switcher is available in the following versions:

    • Translate: v9.9.58.761479923.3-release
    • Wallet: v25.20.761154377
    • Tasks: v2025.05.19.760395213.0-release

If you’ve updated the apps but don’t see the new switcher yet, try closing and reopening them. While the rollout to more apps is a welcome move, Google Maps remains the only app with over 10 billion Play Store installs to receive the update so far.
