GitLab 18 revolutionizes developer workflows by incorporating AI more deeply across the platform. GitLab Premium and Ultimate users can now access AI-powered Code Suggestions for real-time code completion and generation, as well as Chat for on-demand code explanations, refactoring, test creation, and bug fixes—directly within their preferred source code editor or integrated development environment (IDE), all at no extra cost.
These AI-driven features build upon GitLab Premium’s robust capabilities, enabling scaling organizations to manage secure source code, advanced CI/CD, and an enhanced developer experience, all without needing separate tools, licensing, or governance.
In response to customer requests, GitLab Premium users can now also purchase Duo Enterprise, GitLab’s comprehensive AI suite, without upgrading to GitLab Ultimate. This offering includes advanced team collaboration and context-sensitive AI features across the entire development lifecycle.
