If you’ve been eager to try out Google’s more advanced AI tools—such as the impressive Veo 3 video generator—the Pro account is now a much more affordable entry point. Recently discounted to just $20 per month, the Pro tier offers a cost-effective alternative to the $250/month Ultra plan, though with a few limitations.
Fortunately, Google is now packing more value into that Pro subscription. According to Josh Woodward, VP of Google Labs and Gemini (via 9to5Google), Gemini Pro users can now generate up to three videos per day using Veo 3 Fast, a lighter, speed-optimized version of the flagship tool.
In addition to expanded video generation, Veo is also receiving a minor but welcome update to improve subtitle rendering—a small tweak that should enhance the overall video output experience.
Flow Pro members will also benefit from the Veo 3 Fast update. They’ll be able to generate videos using 20 credits per creation. Google AI Pro plans currently come with 1,000 monthly credits, which can be used across various Google AI services, including Veo and Gemini.
For users not ready to upgrade or spend extra, Veo 2 remains available. It still allows video creation, albeit with lower quality output and no audio support—something to keep in mind when deciding which version to use.
Meanwhile, Ultra plan subscribers won’t see any changes—they continue to enjoy full, unrestricted access to Google’s premium AI tools.
If you’re a Pixel 9 owner, you’re in luck: the phone includes a free year of Google AI Pro, unlocking access to Veo 3 Fast, advanced Gemini features, Whisk, NotebookLM, and 2TB of cloud storage at no extra cost. It’s a great opportunity to experience the growing suite of AI capabilities without opening your wallet.
If you haven’t explored Google’s AI ecosystem yet, now might be the perfect time. With more features, flexible plans, and expanding accessibility, there’s plenty to discover.
